We made an LA trip that you’ll hear about more in-depth in the upcoming weeks and newsletter (so make sure you subscribe).
Our first release of the LA Series is Jarred Vanderbilt. Sitting there during the recording, I learned a lot about Jarred. I didn’t watch mixtapes on Vando, as maybe I was a little too old at that point. But damn, that boy can BOOGIE. Jarred is known as a defender at the moment and a player who delivers energy consistently. But in high school, he was a ball-handling point forward, referencing Lamar Odom and Penny Hardaway as references (lefties for the win). I found myself watching his mixtapes while editing the entire podcast.
Vando’s journey has been CRAZY. Playing with a broken foot for his entire freshman year at the University of Kentucky. Being drafted by the Nuggets and not playing for his first two years there. Playing with some of the greatest players in the game today, from LeBron, Jokic and Anthony Edwards. To being traded pretty much at every trade deadline for the last couple of seasons.
This is an episode worth any sports fan!
